Founded in 1969, San Antonio Urban Ministries is a nonprofit agency that serves various individuals and families throughout Texas. The agency operates the After School Kare program, which provides day care services for more than 1,500 children of working parents. It also owns and operates Fairweather Lodge, which is a housing and vocational program for various adults with mental illnesses. San Antonio Urban Ministries additionally maintains a family lodge for homeless women with mental disabilities and their children.
