Kpbs, headquartered in San Diego, operates radio and television stations for listeners and viewers, and provides programs and community service. The stations air current and breaking news, sports news, business news, traffic updates, and weather forecasts. In addition, they broadcast programs on issues of human interest, talk shows, and a variety of entertainment programs. The stations are located at the Copley Telecommunications Center in San Diego where all station facilities and staff are located. The 63,000-square-foot center has state-of-the-art studios and production facilities. Kpbs consists of 89.5 Fm, Kpbs-TV, and Kpbs-Kd, one of the first digital television stations in the United Statres. The Kpbs stations have more than 50,000 listeners and viewers.
