Jenny Wiley State Resort Park is a mountain resort named for the legendary pioneer woman, Jenny Wiley. Taken captive by Indians in 1789, Wiley endured the slaying of her brother and children and escaped after 11 months of captivity. With both the nearly 1,100-acre Dewey Lake and an Olympic-size swimming pool, the park is a water lover’s paradise. Visitors can also take in a Broadway-style show at the Jenny Wiley Theatre. The park has a nearly 50-room resort, the May Lodge and private one and two bedroom cottages. Visitors can enjoy a Kentucky cuisine in the May Lodge Dining Room, which is a nearly 225-seat dining room that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The park has a nearly 120-site campground for camping. Other recreation activities include disc golf, nature walks, picnicking and playgrounds, group meeting facilities and a gift shop. Jenny Wiley State Resort Park is located in Prestonsburg, Ky.
