Founded in 1944, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is a science museum featuring exhibit halls and science laboratories. It also provides tourism and educational resource services through interactive exhibits and hands-on demonstrations. Its facility features an Omnimax theater, planetarium and the Uss Blueback, a fast-attack, diesel-powered submarine built by the U.S. Navy. In addition, it offers a wide range of featured and temporary exhibits, which include Stars Wars artifacts, robot object theater debate and real world starships and robots. The museum also offers a variety of camps and classes; and outreach programs, such as assemblies and science festivals; and classroom and live animal programs. Omsi also offers Internet and virtual reality programs, and is located in Portland, Ore.
