Tucked away on 12 acres of rolling countryside in North Wales, Penn., the Joseph Ambler Inn offers the features expected of a great country inn. Joseph Ambler, a skilled wheelwright, built the original fieldstone house in 1734. The tenant cottage featured five guest rooms and the stone bank barn. The cottage housing an award-winning restaurant was added in stages during the 1800s and 1900s. Its newest addition, the John Roberts House, was moved to the grounds in 2003, adding 15 more luxurious rooms that look out to the peaceful lawns, gardens and meadows surround the buildings. Its 52 guest rooms are tastefully decorated with antique and period furnishings. The inn s amenities include telephones, computer access, cable televisions, air conditioning, private baths, fireplaces and spa tubs. Overnight guests are treated to a complimentary country breakfast.
