The Red Mile, located in Lexington, Ky., is a fast, red clay and one-mile horse racing track that is one of the oldest harness tracks in the world. The harness track has been staging equine events for more than 130 years. In 2004, the Red Mile hosted its inaugural quarter horse meet that marked the first time that the breed has raced in more than a decade. In addition to each year’s showcase horse racing, the Red Mile simulcasts 365 days a year and hosts numerous horse sales, wedding receptions, holiday parties, concerts, circuses, reunions, corporate meetings and other events.
