Ka’uiki, the hill in front of the Hotel Hana Maui, is the birthplace of Ka’ahumanu. She grew to become the favorite queen of King Kamehameha and was one of the most influential women in Hawaii’s history. The Hotel Hana Maui is a nearly 70-room luxury hotel that was restored in 2002. The secluded hotel offers junior suites with patios, located in bungalow-style guestrooms, and plantation-style sea ranch cottages, located on a seaside bluff with ocean and mountain views from decks, many with private spa tubs. The hotel is located in Hana, Hawaii. Known since ancient times as a region of physical and spiritual healing, Hana retains a Hawaiian sense of place that has been all but lost in other and more populous locations of the island state.
