Sunrise Recreation and Park District was founded in 1950 and serves communities in north east Sacramento County in California. The district operates more than 27 square miles of public utility land and serves a population of over 163,000 in Citrus Heights, Foothill Farms and Antelope in California. It operates and maintains more than 40 park facilities and offers over 500 annual recreational programs, including community centers and pool facilities. The district offers a variety of affordable leisure and learning opportunities to individuals of all ages and abilities. Its programs include day care, preschool, fitness, leisure and educational programs for individuals with disabilities, such as gymnastics and dance. The district also offers a wide variety of activities for children, including aeronautics and aviation classes, magic workshops, bowling, karate classes, cartoon making and sketching.
