Established in 1954, Bennie’s Red Barn is one of the oldest, privately owned restaurants on St. Simon’s Island, Ga. It offers various varieties of steak, including T-bone, New York Strip, Rib eye and filet, and chops, such as lamb and pork chops. The restaurant s menu also includes seafood, including fried and broiled fish, oysters, scallops and shrimp, Grilled Tuna and salmon and crab neuberg and au gratin. Its menu also features various appetizers and side dishes, including sherried mushrooms, collard greens, black-eyed peas, onion rings and soup, Brunswick stew and side spaghetti. Bennie s Red Barn also provides an extensive wine and cocktail list, and separate children s menu. It also has private dinner rooms for parties of 10 to 150.
