Founded in 1972, Il Fornaio owns and operates more than 20 full-service restaurants that serve Italian-style cuisine based on authentic regional Italian recipes. The restaurant provides in-house dining, baked goods, prepared foods and a variety of Il Fornaio-brand products. The company also operates three wholesale bakeries that produce handmade breads, pastries and other baked goods for sale in Il Fornaio locations, as well as in grocery stores, coffee retail shops, hotels and other restaurants. Along with restaurants and bakeries, Il Fornaio also operates catering facilities at hotels, including The Hotel St. Claire and The Garden Court Hotel in Palo Alto, Calif. It maintains locations in various U.S. states, including California, Colorado, Nevada, Virginia and Washington.
