Established in 1894, Omaha s Henry Doorly Zoo & Lozier Imax promotes wildlife conservation. It features various mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. It operates various wildlife centers, including Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom Pavilion, Lozier Imax Theater and Cat Complex, Scott Aquarium and Lied Jungle, Desert Dome, Kingdoms of the Night, Hubbard Gorilla Valley and Hubbard Orangutan Forest. Its organizes Budgie Encounter exhibits that feature more than 400 parakeets, cockatiels, doves and quails. It also has animal conservation and research center that provides medical and research capabilities in fields, such as animal care and management, reproductive physiology, nutrition, genetics and genome resource banking. The zoo additionally has hotels and lodging facilities, including the Tree-Tops Restaurant, concession stands and various picnic areas. The zoo is located in Omaha, Neb.
