Fresh Start Bakeries’ history began in the early 1960s with the construction and operation of the first major bakery to serve Mcdonald’s in Southern California. In 1971, a new plant was built in Southern California in City of Industry, which is one of the largest capacity hamburger bun baking facilities in the world. The plant is capable of producing 8,000 dozen hamburger buns per hour and 1,400 dozen English muffins per hour. In addition to hamburger buns and English muffins, Fresh Start Bakeries other products include ice cream cones, fruit pies, cakes and specialty buns. The company employs approximately 250 people. Fresh Start Bakeries has a location in Brea, Calif.
